Voice utilities
Temporary channels, ownership, access, and cleanup.
Start here
Configure join-to-create voice channels
PulseOne → Dashboard → select your server → Modules → Voice utilities
Open Modules → Voice utilities → Voice utilities configuration.
Under Defaults set the temporary-room properties and permissions.
Under Limits and cleanup choose member limits and removal rules. Under Exemptions choose protected roles.
Under Owner controls choose which changes the room owner may make. Add the source lobby under Trigger channels.
Save, join the lobby from a test account, change an owner setting and leave; verify the temporary room is cleaned up.
Practical example
Set up one Join to Create lobby that grants a member an editable voice room and deletes it once empty.
Before you begin
- No module dependency listed.
- Discord bot permissions for the operational slice: ManageChannels, ViewChannel.
- Review staff roles and channel access in your server before using the feature.
Overview of the setup
Before you begin
Choose a join-to-create lobby channel, its room category and default permissions.
Configure
Configure owner limits, visibility and optional access controls with an ordinary test member.
Test and verify
Join the lobby, confirm room creation, try ownership controls, then empty the room and verify cleanup.
Features explained
What each feature does and what to check before publishing or installing the result.
Join-to-create channels
Join-to-create should open one room per intended session with correct category permissions.
Owner controls and access
Owner controls regulate access and limits without requiring elevated guild permissions.
Restart-safe cleanup
Restart-safe cleanup prevents orphaned temporary channels from accumulating.
If it still does not work
- No temporary room? Check the Trigger channels IDs, Manage Channels and parent category limits.
- Orphaned room? Revisit Limits and cleanup and runtime health.
Troubleshooting and safety checks
- Room not created? Check category capacity, Manage Channels permission and join-to-create lobby configuration.
- If a capability is unavailable in the UI, check the module's current rollout/availability instead of assuming every roadmap item is live.
